My memento is titled, Embrace. Throughout high school I competed in a national competition called, Fine Arts, with my youth group; In my final year, my younger brother Brandon, was old enough to join and compete as well. Our main event, and also the category Brandon competed in, was Human Video; however, as a visual artist, I always entered my drawings as well. In my final year of Fine Arts, I won 2nd place at districts and advancement into nationals; Fine Arts is a very large competition, with thousands of entries at districts and hundreds of church participants throughout the nation; with this consideration, it was one of the greatest honors I have ever received  I remember walking down the stairs of the balcony and through the large auditorium to accept my medal, feeling exhilarated  However, it was not the honor of winning that is most memorable to me; as I made my way back to the balcony and towards the cheers of my youth group, my brother was already running towards me and down the aisle. He gave me a huge bear hug, picking me up; his face was so - proud. My younger brother and I are close in general, but I will admit that we do not always get along and he doesn't care to show too much affection towards family; but I will never forget how happy he was for me and how much that Embrace meant, "Love you sis!".
